It's odd, in a way, that touch input has not taken off for PCs, and that today only one mainstream manufacturer sells a desktop PC that allows you to navigate Microsoft Windows using your fingers - or a stylus or, of course, a mouse.
This is HP, with its recently-launched TouchSmart PC, which introduces a bunch of applications, including HP PhotoSmart Touch and HP SmartCalendar that offer users a new way to interact with their computer.
Four cameras hidden in the corners of the display, in this case a glossy 19in. widescreen, track either your finger or the provided stylus (which resides in a handy slot atop
the screen). The screen is built into a very solid, 16.8kg frame that comprises the CPU, disk and memory as well as the screen, and is designed to sit on a desktop or by the
kitchen sink, with a display you can swivel from a vertical position (facing a seated user) to about 30, which would be about right for a standing adult.
